Hull 5 Saints 0
By: Mike | March 16th, 2008Saints endured another thrashing, this time at the hands of Hull, and slided back into the relegation mire. Michael Poke was injured in the warm-up but was still preferred to play in goal over Andrej Pernecky. If Saints weren’t willing to play him over the injured Poke it does raise the question of why he was on the bench in the first place! However, the whole team has to take responsibility over the manner of the defeat as they crumbled to concede 4 goals in the last 35 minutes.
The result leaves Nigel Pearson with a real task to restore morale before the visit of Coventry on Saturday. The Coventry game is now an even bigger match than the Leicester one last week with victory essential if Saints want to avoid becoming favourites for the drop.

Nice to see a Saints blog on this site. Good luck, Mike. I hope you keep it up.
PS Portsmouth smells like fish.

Thanks, I’m hoping that losing 5-0 as soon as the blog starts isn’t a sign of things to come!
